Creating Engraved Metal Text in Photoshop
1. Create a new layer with Width 600, Height 340.
2. Set the Foreground color to # af8c52, and the Background color to #705730.
3. Create a Radial Gradient from the center of the image to the bottom left corner.

4. Create a new layer.
5. Set the Foreground black, and the Background with white color.
6. Go to Filter > Render > clouds.
7. Go to Filter > Render > Fibers.

8. Double click on the layer.
Make the following changes:

9. Change Blend Mode from Normal to Soft light.

Your background is complete.
10. Load a texture image and place it on top of the Background layer. Name it “Metal Plate”

11. Double click on the Metal plate layer.
Make the following changes:





12. Duplicate Metal layer. Name it “Metal Plate 2”
13. Now change the Blend Mode for the Metal Plate 2 layer from Normal to Soft light.
14. using the Elliptical Marquee Tool, make the following selection on the Metal Plate 2.
15. Press Ctrl + J
16. A new layer will be created with the same effects as the Metal Plate 2 layer. Name the new layer “Screw”

17. Now we’ll make some changes to the Screw layer. Note that these changes will be applied to the Screw layer only.
18. Change the Bevel and Emboss effect as shown:


19. Turn off the Texture Box.
20. Make three duplicates of the Screw layer and arrange them as shown.

21. Now create your text using white color. The font is ‘Copperplate Gothic Bold.’

22. Double click on the text layer.

Make the following changes:


23. Change Blend Mode of the text layer to Multiply.

24. Repeat steps 21 to23 for the word ‘Layer’.

25. Select Brush tool with white color. Set the Brush Tool settings as follows:


26. Create a new layer.
27. Hold down the shift key and drag your brush from the mid right edge to the center of the image as shown.

28. Hold down the ALT key and drag the fx symbol from text layer onto the brush layer.
